Metal Fabrication Estimator

TCB Industrial is looking to add an experienced Estimator to our team.  The Estimator will be the fundamental link in communication between all parties involved in a project.  You are the first step in each project and will play a key role in the team’s ability to deliver successful results.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Work closely with customers and determine their needs.
• Actively seek opportunities for Fabrication projects.
• If required, attend Pre-bid, Walk Thru, Site visit.
• Read Blueprints/Plan sheets and Quality requirements.
• Prepare detailed take offs including all material required, processes, special finishes, labor needs, and other specifications based off of prints, plans, or customer/internal drawings.
• Obtain bids from material vendors and subcontractors.
• Communicate with customers the sell price, delivery dates, and any additional information needed by the customer.

• Job Requirements:
  • Candidate must have knowledge of welding, forming, metal fabrication, and basic machining processes.
  • Must be able to interpret drawings.
  • Knowledge of steel, aluminum, and stainless.
  • Strong Math skills
  • Strong verbal communication and written communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Must be detailed orientated, consistent follow up is a must
  • Ability to understand and solve complex problems.

• Experience/Education:
  • Previous experience in fabricating welded assemblies to AISC and AWS standards.
  • Fabrication planning of welded steel structures is a plus.
  • Estimating from blue prints: 10 + years (preferred)
  • Fabrication Estimating: 10 + years (preferred)
  • Shop Fabrication Experience: 10+ year (preferred)
